Designing Dynamic Decision Support for Electronic Requirements Negotiations
Decision support in software development is particularly important for requirements negotiations to help assessing requirements and their different implementation alternatives. Changes related to requirements are likely, which impede decision making. To keep an overview of the assessment of requirements and to keep this assessment up-to-date throughout a software development project, flexible decision support processes are needed. In this paper, we design interactive dynamic decision support, which can handle changes related to requirements dynamically. The designed support component is compared to two state-of-the-art approaches for decision support in requirements negotiations
Assessment of Multi-Criteria Preference Measurement Methods for a Dynamic Environment
Multi-criteria decision analysis is required in various domains where decision making reoccurs as part of a longer-term process. When the decision context changes or the preferences evolve due to process dynamics, one-shot preference measurement is not sufficient to build an adequate basis for decision making. Process dynamics require taking into account the dimension of time. We investigate six interactive preference measurement methods providing the possibility to assess alternatives in terms of utility for an individual decision maker, whether they are suitable for dynamic preference adjustment. We use a mixed-methods approach to analyse them towards 1) requirements for a dynamic method, and 2) their efficiency, validity, and complexity. Our results show that the best method to be further developed for dynamic context is Adaptive Self-Explication slightly preferable over Pre-Sorted Self-Explication. Our assessment implicates that an extension of the Adaptive Self-Explication will enable efficient dynamic decision support
ELECTRONIC REQUIREMENTS NEGOTIATION â A LITERATURE SURVEY ON THE STATE-OF-THE-ART (23)
In the software development process, requirements negotiation is an essential part in which stakeholders jointly have to come to an agreement. Such a negotiation process is often conducted using information systems, which makes it an electronic requirements negotiation process. The aim of the current paper is to present the state-of-the-art in electronic requirements negotiations. We elicit the state-of-the-art by analysing relevant literature, extracting areas of current research, and describing the status quo of each area. The identified areas of research are foundations of electronic requirements negotiation, electronic requirements negotiation methodology, automation of electronic requirements negotiation, computer- mediated communication, and social communication
Digital Fitness â The Goal of Digital Transformation
Digital Transformation forces a technology-driven change in organizations and society. Due to this change, companies fear that they will not be able to keep up with innovations. Although digital transformation is a very popular topic in business and research, a precise state a company should strive for, is not discussed adequately. Thus, the aim of this paper is to understand and conceptualize the target state of digital transformation. To achieve this goal, we discuss literature and expert interviews. We found out, practitioners themselves are not aware of the target state, although they have to decide what is to reach on the digital transformation journey. Based on these findings, we propose a model of digital fitness that conceptualizes the target state of digital transformation comprising of three dimensions: digital adoption, digital expertise and the adoption rate of digital innovations
Polarity-Specific Cortical Effects of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Primary Somatosensory Cortex of Healthy Humans
Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a noninvasive stimulation method that has been shown to modulate the excitability of the motor and visual cortices in human subjects in a polarity dependent manner in previous studies. The aim of our study was to investigate whether anodal and cathodal tDCS can also be used to modulate the excitability of the human primary somatosensory cortex (S1). We measured paired-pulse suppression (PPS) of somatosensory evoked potentials in 36 right-handed volunteers before and after anodal, cathodal or sham stimulation over the right non-dominant S1. Paired-pulse stimulation of the median nerve was performed at the dominant and non-dominant hand. After anodal tDCS, PPS was reduced in the ipsilateral S1 compared to sham stimulation, indicating an excitatory effect of anodal tDCS. In contrast, PPS in the stimulated left hemisphere was increased after cathodal tDCS, indicating an inhibitory effect of cathodal tDCS. Sham stimulation induced no pre-post differences. Thus, tDCS can be used to modulate the excitability of S1 in polarity-dependent manner, which can be assessed by paired-pulse suppression. An interesting topic for further studies could be the investigation of direct correlations between sensory changes and excitability changes induced by tDCS
Data quality and information loss in standardised interpolated path analysis : quality measures and guidelines
Standardised interpolated path analysis (SIPA) is a method to
investigate negotiation processes making different negotiation histories
comparable. Due to its interpolation approach, researchers employing SIPA must
take data quality and potential information loss into account to maximise the
methods explanatory power. This paper presents quality measures and applies
them to two negotiation datasets for deriving meaningful boundaries. Using these
quality measures enables researchers to compare SIPA across segmentations,
variables, and datasets also providing outlier analysis
